Competitive Junior Pathway

Modern Development for Competitive Junior Golfers

Launching April 1, 2026

Competitive golf has evolved.

The traditional weekly lesson model was built for a different era — one built around recurring appointments, not structured development.

In 2026, serious junior golfers need more than frequency.

They need:

  • Structure

  • Measurable benchmarks

  • Clear expectations

  • Accountability

  • Ownership

After years of coaching competitive juniors and studying what actually helped state champions and collegiate players succeed one pattern is clear:

Improvement at a certain stage comes less from hearing things again and more from applying them independently.

The Competitive Junior Pathway in the PMG Academy reflects that reality.

Beginning April 1, competitive players will train within structured development lanes not open-ended weekly lesson scheduling.

How Competitive Players Train

Competitive golfers in the PMG Academy participate in one of three structured pathways:

  • Junior Elite Group (Age 13 & Under)

  • High School Elite Group (Age 14+)

  • Competitive Individual Pathway

All athletes enrolled in a Competitive Pathway whether group or individual receive:

  • Priority scheduling access

  • Reserved coaching blocks

  • Access to specialty short game training

  • Access to on-course training sessions

  • Partner benefits (PuttView Books, Arccos, select tournament discounts)

  • Structured performance tracking

Commitment earns access.

Junior Elite Group (Age 13 & Under)

Designed for developing competitive players building foundation and long-term skill depth.

Focus Areas:

  • Full swing skill development

  • Short game scoring skills

  • TrackMan performance testing cycles

  • Learning how to practice

  • Competitive peer environment

  • Structured accountability

  • Green reading and scoring development

  • Fitness Training

At younger ages, athletes benefit most from:

  • Environment

  • Repetition

  • Challenge

  • Social motivation

  • Falling in love with the game

Private lessons are not required for development at this stage but can suplement learning.

In many cases, group training accelerates growth through peer learning and competition.

High School Elite Group (Age 14+)

Designed for competitive high school players preparing for tournament golf and potential collegiate pathways.

Focus Areas:

  • Advanced ball flight control

  • Trajectory and curvature management

  • Performance benchmarking

  • Tournament preparation structure

  • On-course decision-making

  • Practice efficiency

  • Competitive simulations

At this stage, development shifts toward ownership and preparation.

The focus is not just on how you swing but how you prepare, practice and perform.

Competitive Individual Pathway

For athletes who are ready for a more personalized structure.

Available for:

  • Under 13 (2 sessions per month)

  • Age 13+ (1 session per month + structured accountability)

Includes:

  • Private monthly coaching session(s)

  • Structured practice expectations

  • 4–6 swing submissions per month (range or on-course)

  • Practice Coach integration

  • TrackMan performance tracking

  • Tournament planning support

  • Discounted bay rentals

  • Discounted equipment

  • Partner benefits (PuttView books, Arccos, select junior tour discounts)

  • Priority scheduling access

  • Exclusive access to short game and on-course training blocks

This pathway is built for athletes who:

  • Love the game

  • Practice without being reminded

  • Retain instruction well

  • Are internally motivated

  • Want feedback, not supervision

The most talented player is not always the best fit for individual coaching.

The most internally motivated player is.

Exclusive Access & Priority Structure

Athletes enrolled in any Competitive Pathway (Group or Individual) receive:

  • Priority booking access

  • Reserved training availability

  • Access to specialty short game sessions

  • Access to on-course intensives

  • Structured development tracking

Players not enrolled in a Competitive Pathway:

  • Do not receive priority scheduling

  • Will book based on general availability

  • Do not have access to specialty training blocks

This ensures commitment is rewarded with structured access.

Individual or Group — Which Is Right for My Athlete?

This decision is not based solely on talent.

It is based on maturity, motivation, and learning style.

Group Training May Be Best If:

  • Your athlete thrives in competitive environments

  • Peer learning motivates them

  • They benefit from structured repetition

  • They are still developing independence

  • They enjoy team-based challenge

Individual Pathway May Be Best If:

  • Your athlete absolutely loves the game

  • They practice independently

  • They send updates without being prompted

  • They retain and apply feedback

  • They are internally driven

  • They want detailed swing and performance guidance

In both cases, development is structured.

The difference is the level of ownership and independence your athlete is ready to assume.

Our Guiding Principle

The athlete who does the work does the learning.

No amount of weekly instruction replaces independent application.

Our role as coaches is to:

  • Provide clarity

  • Provide structure

  • Provide feedback

  • Provide accountability

The athlete’s role is to:

  • Practice deliberately

  • Apply instruction

  • Prepare intentionally

When both sides do their part, improvement accelerates.

A Modern Development Model

We are not moving away from coaching.

We are moving toward modern athlete development.

Competitive golf in 2026 requires:

  • Measured benchmarks

  • Defined expectations

  • Internal motivation

  • Athlete ownership

The Competitive Junior Pathway is built around those realities.

Enrollment details and program registration will be released in early March.

If you have questions about which pathway is right for your athlete, we’re happy to help guide that conversation.
