Not Sure Where to Start? Begin with an Evaluation
The fastest way to improve is to understand what’s actually holding your game back. At Edge Golf Performance, we offer two evaluation options depending on your experience level, goals, and commitment to improvement.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen scoring skills or take a deeper dive into how your body and swing produce the golf ball, we’ll point you toward the evaluation that makes the most sense for your game.
Golf Skill Evaluation
Best for: Golfers of all skill levels looking to understand strengths, weaknesses, and scoring opportunities
Duration: 90 minutes
This evaluation takes a thorough, on-course–relevant look at your current golf skills across all major scoring categories. The focus is on what you can do, not just how your swing looks.
What’s included:
- Putting
Performance measured on an 18-hole putting course
- Chipping
Shot selection, execution, and consistency around the green
- Finesse Wedges
Performance from 40–70 yards
- Approach Play
Performance from a selected approach distance based on the length of courses you typically play
- Driving
Club speed, distance, and dispersion
- Ball Flight Patterns
With both a 7-iron and driver
What you’ll receive:
- A written summary outlining performance in each area
- An estimated handicap range for each skill category
- Clear recommendations for coaching or training options that best align with your goals
Ideal if you want to:
- Lower scores
- Improve short game and consistency
- Understand where strokes are being lost
- Get guidance before committing to coaching or practice programs
Performance Diagnostic
Best for: Serious, committed golfers (typically ~12 handicap or better) looking for a deeper, data-driven understanding of their swing and performance
All Performance Diagnostics are conducted directly by Paul Maurer or the Director of Coaching, ensuring the evaluation, interpretation, and recommendations are grounded in extensive coaching experience and advanced performance analysis.
This is not a basic swing check. It’s a comprehensive look at how your body moves, how you generate speed and control the club, and why your ball flight behaves the way it does.
What’s included:
- Swing Catalyst
Ground reaction forces, pressure patterns, and sequencing
- SportsBox AI
Full-body motion capture and swing pattern analysis
- HackMotion
Wrist structures and delivery patterns
- TrackMan & Video
Ball flight, strike, face/path relationships
- Setup and movement analysis tailored to your physical capabilities
What you’ll receive:
- A complete performance profile of your golf swing
- Identification of key constraints limiting improvement
- Clear priorities for training, lessons, and practice
- A roadmap for ongoing coaching or structured training
Ideal if you want to:
- Understand the why behind your swing tendencies
- Stop chasing random fixes
- Train more efficiently and intentionally
- Commit to a long-term improvement plan
